What is Stinging Nettle?
Stinging Nettle is a perennial herb native to North America. More and more research shows that this invasive “weed” is actually extremely beneficial to the human body. Stinging Nettle is in fact in the same family as Cannabis. Like Cannabis, Stinging Nettle is extremely medicinal. If your unaware about the benefits of Cannabis related plants, check out The Power Of Hemp! That being said, Nettles are full minerals, many of which are lacking in our diet. In fact, it has been estimated that nettle is one of the most nutrient dense plants on the planet! This is because Nettles always grow in nitrogen rich soils. As a result, their ability to uptake and convert chelated rock minerals into organic minerals is astoundingly high.
However, proper preparation of Nettles is mandatory . Upon contact, Nettles will “sting” bare skin resulting in a small rash. Fortunately, these stings are harmless and can be avoided by using gloves. Interestingly, being stung by Nettles isn’t such a bad thing. In fact, centuries ago healers would use these plants to perform “Stinging Nettle Therapy.” Simply put, it involved hitting the sick individual with Nettle plants until they were full of stings. This allowed the Nettles medicine to release into the blood stream of the sick individual. The results were astounding. Arthritis, inflammation, allergies, sore muscles, and fatigue all were reversed using Stinging Nettle Therapy.
Stinging Nettle Helps Combat Mineral Deficiency and Immune System Dysfunctions
As mentioned before, Stinging Nettle is full of minerals. More specifically, it contains high amounts of vitamins A, C, D , and B complex. It also contains high amounts of beta-carotene which is a powerful antioxidant. Beta-carotene plays a vital role in skin and eye health. High levels of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and magnesium are also present in Stinging Nettle Leaf. All minerals found in Nettle work in synergy and in perfect balance. Unlike isolated mineral supplements, Nettle has the perfect balance and variety of minerals that are needed in order for each one to be absorbed and utilized properly by the body.
As well as being full of vital minerals and nutrients, Nettles also act medicinally on the body. They are potent blood cleansers and purify the blood of various parasites and pathogens. They also are lymphatic system builders. Your lymphatic system is responsible for detoxing your body. More specifically, it’s responsible for the removal interstitial fluid from the tissues. It also is responsible for transporting white blood cells from the lymph nodes into the bones. A healthy immune system is dependent on the presence of white blood cells. This is why Nettles are great for immune dysfunctions. Nettles also have anti-histamine properties which are beneficial for those with allergies.
